Early on also provided flying training. 1935 public company. Made cars after 1945. 1956 reorganised into Bristol Aircraft and Bristol Aero Engines. The former merged in 1959 with English Electric, Hunting Aircraft and Vickers Armstrong to form British Aircraft Corp Ltd. The latter merged with Armstrong Siddeley Ltd to form Bristol Siddleley Ltd
