Notes:
Ironworks at Alderwasley were established by Francis Hurt in 1764. The Hurt family were local landowners with additional interests in lead mining. A further ironworks was built nearby in 1776 but closed c1800. In 1767 Hurt acquired land at Morley Park, Ripley, and built an ironworks there. Hurt family withdrew from ironmaking in 1811 and leased works to others, notably the Mold family until 1860. Morley Park was abandoned in 1870s and Alderwasley was sold by the Hurts in 1940
