Traces origins in UK to Texaco Petroleum Products Co established in London in 1916 as a subsidiary of its US parent, Texas Co. Sold lubricants, asphalt, wax for candle making, etc. Renamed Texas Oil Co in 1928. In 1947 merged with Trinidad Leaseholds Ltd, a UK registered business to form Regent Oil Co. TL was formed in 1913 by Central Mining & Investment Corp to obtain oil mining leases in Trinidad. 1930 acquired London based oil/petroleum distribution business of Burt Boulton & Heywood Ltd and its Regent trade mark. Regent was a fully integrated oil company with interests in refining, chemicals, lubricants, petrol sales, etc. 1967 Texaco of USA acquired full control of Regent which was renamed Texaco
