(Sir) Bulmer Bevis, d1613, was a leading mining entrepreneur of Elizabethan England and of Scotland, at work from 1570s until his death. Developed important gold and silver mining interests at, inter alia, Combe Martin, Devon, and at Hilderstone and Leadhills, Scotland. In Scotland gold mining connected with Thomas Foullis, goldsmith. Also involved in enhancing water supply to London in early 1590s, designing a lighthouse, etc.
