Causton family traced its origins as printers to various partnerships at work in City of London from mid 18th century. A leading figure in this was Henry Kent Causton. Out of this business in 1869 Sir Joseph Causton & Sons Ltd was formed when described as wholesale stationers and printers at Southwark. By 1930s had emerged as leading printers with factories at Clapham and Eastleigh, Hampshire. By 1950s had acquired numerous competitor businesses. Thereafter in decline and in 1984 acquired by Norton Opex
