Traced origins to 1815 when established by John Bradbury, d1865, and Jeremiah Greatorex, d1877, both formerly of Manchester. Traded as Bradbury, Greatorex & Teale. Soon based in Aldermanbury, City of London. Early on wholesalers in cotton goods, especially sheets, towels, etc. By 1845 the leading London business of its kind and soon sold throughout country. 1868 incorporated as Bradbury Greatorex & Co Ltd. 1894 converted to public company. 1966 established an association with other industry leaders, Larkins & Sons Ltd of Birmingham, Cook & Watts Ltd of Manchester and Holt & Co (Leeds) Ltd. 1967 acquired by Courtaulds Ltd
